Dorsomedial Prefrontal Cortex
• Associated with mentalizing (appraisal of others’ mental states), attempting to anticipate others’ behaviors (Dixon et al, 2017; Hampton et al, 2008).
Ventromedial Prefrontal Cortex
• Associated with value estimating to assist in guiding choices (Dixon et al, 2017) • Emotion regulation and altering behavior in response to changing environmental conditions (Delgado et al, 2016)
Rostral PFC – may mediate appraisal of one’s own mental state / self-related information (Dixon et al, 2017)
