Clinical criteria for Huntington’s disease (Folstein 1986)
1) Definite Huntington’s disease
- a. Chorea, not present at birth that is insidious and progressive
- b. Family history of at least one other member with typical symptoms of Huntington’s disease
2) Probable Huntington’s disease
- a. Typical symptoms
- b. Unobtainable family history
3) Unknown
- a. Typical symptoms in the absence of family history despite proper genealogic investigation
