Effector nuclei are involved with motor function and aspects of language (Schmahmann 2003).

Ventral anterior nuclei

• Reticulata recipient – complex behaviors
• Pallidal recipient – motor programming

Ventral medial nucleus – motor

Ventral lateral nucleus

• Ventral part – motor
• Dorsal part – language (within dominant hemisphere)
